Nov 15 KPFA Election Deadline; Mail Ballots Today

by $
With only 1 week to the November 15 KPFA election deadline, it is urgent that you complete your ballots and mail them as quickly as possible, no later than Saturday, November 10. We need at least 10% of the subscribers to vote to make this a valid election, a difficult goal to reach. Please participate in your community radio station, urgently needed in these fascist times.

The latest outrage being allowed by the current "management," actively supported by the Democratic Party's slate, "Concerned Listeners," is a broadcast of a government hearing on Friday, November 9, from 3 p.m. until whenever, pre-empting the very important programs for which we pay, Hard Knock Radio, Flashpoints and the 6 p.m. Evening News and more, hosted by the reactionary Democrat who supports the government lie on the 9/11 Inside Job, Larry Bensky, who "thinks" KPFA is his toy. These hearings are always summarized on the evening news, and since this hearing is on a Friday, we will hear about it on the weekend news and on Monday's news, more than enough. All hearings are filled with procedural garbage with a tiny morsel of actual news. They are never worth pre-empting programs that we pay for.

There is also now talk of selling stations rather than getting rid of stale programming and replacing it with programming that will attract more listeners so as to make Pacifica financially viable. We should never sell any station and we should be building more stations, including one in New Orleans. This can only happen if you participate in these Local Station Board elections by voting now for the excellent alternate slates listed below:
