ALOHA vs. WMD: Nonviolence or Nonexistence—Our Choice
Residents of Hawaii, and visitors who want to come to these "healing islands," are being asked (or told?) to host hundreds of Stryker Brigade vehicles on our precious Big Island. The vehicles are scheduled to operate on our sacred "aina" (land) that the Army has admitted to defiling with lethal amounts of uranium while exercising military "war games" since the 60's.
Besides contaminating our islands, the ultimate result of this illogical thinking is: The Military will "Defend Us to Death" with Strykers created to use WMD.
Is it not oxymoronic to contaminate the entire planet in order to protect citizens of the United States from terrorists?
It is as effective as declaring a "no peeing section in the pool." Once airborne, minute lethal uranium particles do not have barriers, and do not stay within whatever country our president decides to invade by illegally declaring war.
The Stryker is created to shoot "giant uranium darts" that contain lethal amounts of deadly radioactive uranium that "doesn't stop when the war ends and is indiscriminate in who it kills"--thus making it a Weapon of Mass Destruction.
Who in their right mind would order the use of Weapons of Mass Destruction (that travel around the whole planet)—in order to "defend" us?
The answer to that question is, "Only a psychopath or a person who is unaware of the long term effects of this lethal substance." We can not protect ourselves from this insidious dust; once inside the body, it lodges in organs and bones causing incurable diseases; and, DU lasts more than 4 billion 500 million years.)
It is simply illogical to imagine that anyone benefits from using WMD—other than the temporary financial gain for warmongering weapons suppliers. Even they would become sick if WMD were to continue to be used as they presently are.
With the Gulf War Syndrome, we are seeing that our noble soldiers are not being told that they are handling weapons designed to kill not only the enemy but have the side effect of sickening or killing them, their wives, their offspring AND everyone all over our finite globe.

Only recently did the Pentagon stop trying to cover up their usage of depleted uranium radiation in Hawaii, when the United States Senator Dan Inouye confirmed it's presence on the islands.
We now know that DU contamination is at Pohakuloa Military Training Area. We believe that it is killing birds near the camp, causing tumors in livestock, making cats sick with side effects of uranium poisoning, and is most likely the cause of the increase in incidents of cancer and deformities in babies born downwind of that facility.
The military is required to accept our "input" regarding their intention to station 4000 soldiers, 324 eight-wheeled, 20 ton, uranium-drenched (from the Iraqi desert) Stryker vehicles with 600 support vehicles to drive around practicing "war games" on DU-contaminated soil. These activities would stir up DU dust which the wind could potentially carry all over the island to make us vulnerable to more illness.
We have only until Oct. 30th to send our opposition to this ill-conceived plan that will make tourists want to avoid coming to this previously pristine paradise.
Please help Hawaiian citizens prevent Strykers in Hawaii. We already have over 800 sites contaminated by the military and now wish to demilitarize our islands. Strykers, or any military activity, would only increase the already unacceptable risk to our health and add more pollution to our fragile ecosystem. What the Hawaiian Islands need from the military is REMEDIATION.
Please write to the PublicComments [at] aec.apgea.army.mi, before October 30, 2007 demanding that our government not use WMD in accordance with U.S. and International Law.
Tell the military that we want the army to CLEAN UP the mess they have made, as required by our United States law (U.S. Army Regulations AR 700-48 and TB 9-1300-278).

Vote "NO" to Depleted Uranium and "NO" to Strykers in Hawaii;
Vote "YES" to Aloha and "YES" to a WMD radiation-free Hawaii DMZ.

This amounts to no more than a bunch of hyper-ventilated nonsense. DU is so close to harmless, it might just as well be. There's been no evidence produced that would lead anyone (truly qualified) to believe that there's any danger from a few chunks of DU leftover from its use as spotting rounds for another weapon back in the 60's. No, the Army has NOT "admitted to defiling [the aina] with lethal amounts of uranium". Those are Barbara's fantasies, not the Army's position at all. There's no deadly particles roaming around the Big Island, and if the Strykers end up there, they WON'T be using DU for practice anyway.
Rokke is a poser who has misrepresented his education, expertise and involvement with the DU clean-up project. He used to claim that 30 of his former mates were dead from DU, but he was called on it and he no longer makes that claim. He believes that a missile hit the Pentagon, and that the WTC towers were destroyed by "controlled demolition". He's therefore obviously scientifically and logically challenged.
If you're simply against the U.S. having a military, or using it, or practicing using it, just say so. Don't invent falsehoods to mislead otherwise sensible people who do value and appreciate the military, and the simple fact that without it, we wouldn't be free to make up things about them with no consequence.

DU is a weapon banned by the Geneva Convention. The US government is in violation of the Geneva Convention for using it and subject to war crimes prosecution. DU will be used in Iran soon. We treat middle easterners like numbers, they are not human. I don't have a problem with Depleted Uranium because it is destroying the US and British military. So we need more scientific experts like you to tell us that DU is not WMD!! Its worse, the mass of DU is equal to tens of thousands of atomic weapons.
US Policies of aggression, nuclear arms, nuclear weapon development, nuclear weapon use threats, and missile shields will only serve to antagonize China, Russia, and some Middle Eastern countries. The inevitable event will be one or many nuclear weapons fired against the United States in the very near future. The only thing that can stop this is for the globalization movement to stop its power grab and for native peoples to be given equal voice in institutions like the United Nations. The native peoples are the moral reserve of humanity, not the rich overbloated bankers, politicians and royalty. The world needs to come together to end racism against religions and ethnicities. We should start with Iran and immediately. The Third Major shaking of the earth on US soil was prophesized by the Cherokee long ago. Its time to listen to the native wisdom again, and let go of the snake oil politicians who are only concerned about themselves.

A statement signed by the 215 members who voted for the resolution reads, "The aggressor U.S. Army and the Central Intelligence Agency are terrorists and also nurture terror.
Depleted Uranium will serve the purpose of turning the world community against the US in future world confict certainly after the coming US-Iran war. In light of the use of DU in the Middle East and Afganistan, the world community will destroy the United States and Israel. This is ultimately the plan that will serve the interests of the One World Government and New World Order.
Although DU has about 60% of the radioactivity of the natural uranium for an equal mass of substance (Cantaluppi and Degeto, 2000), elevated uranium activity concentrations have been observed in most of the surface soil samples and all of the biological samples collected in Kosovo. In some soils, elevations of even seven thousand times higher than the background uranium level have been observed.
