Last Man Out- William Rodriguez Speaks w' Peter Dale Scott, Cindy Sheehan, Nov 1st 7 pm

William Rodriguez, who was working as custodian in-charge of three 110-story stairwells in the North Tower of the World Trade Center on the day it was destroyed, and who personally saved fifteen others from certain death, will share his harrowing experience of the 9-11 tragedy at a special presentation, Thursday, November 1st at 7 pm, at the Grand Lake Theater, 3200 Grand Avenue in Oakland, California. He will also explain his deep disappointment with what he describes as serious nadequacies in the final report by the 9-11 Commission.

At the White House on five occasions and recognized as a “National Hero” by the Senate of Puerto Rico, William Rodriguez, in possession of a master key to all of the stairwell doors at each floor in the 110 story building that day, personally saved the lives of 15 people and aided NYC firefighters in saving hundreds of others.

Rodriguez has used his recognition as one of the true heroes of that tragic day to help draft and pass legislation on behalf of victim’s family members and survivors, to help raise millions of dollars for the victims of 9/11 and their families, to bring attention to the health concerns of thousands of first responders, now sick with "Ground Zero Syndrome," and to lobby for the creation of the 9/11 Commission.

Though he advocated for the creation of the 9-11 Commission and testified before the commission members -- his private testimony before the Commission was excluded from its final report ­ Rodriguez is now raising questions about what he describes as serious gaps in the official story and is calling for a deeper, more energetic and international based investigation into every possible aspect, failure and contributing circumstance leading to the tragedy.

For nearly twenty years, the Puerto Rican-born, New Jersey resident worked in the North Tower. On an almost daily basis, Rodriguez met with co-workers for breakfast in the famous 106th floor Restaurant in Tower #1 of the World Trade Center. Nearly two hundred people, including most of William's friends, were in the restaurant on the morning of September 11. None survived.

Other guest speakers include Peter Dale Scott, author of several books including ‘Deep Politics and The Death of JFK’ and the recently published, ‘ The Road to 9/11- Wealth, Empire, and the Future of America’, and introductions will be made by Cindy Sheehan.

Joanna Macy and David Korten use the term “The Great Turning” to describe the time that we are living in. Some people fear that it might be “The Great Unraveling.” Perhaps, for war criminals and war profiteers, the future is grim.

Fear is the real enemy. Courage, love, healthy connection to one’s soul, friends, family, community, humanity, Earth is the solution.

This October, as the occupants of the White House and Congress scream for war. We are actively calling, working for peace, impeachment, truth, transparency, accountability. Only the growing tide of humanity throughout the world, a breakthrough in consciousness I this country can break the War Trance and redirect our resources from conquest towards redemption.

We are not powerless; we are not alone. We have courage, truth, peace, justice, humanity and life on our side and we will celebrate, being together on this journey together.

The Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance is one of the oldest 9/11 Truth groups, comprised of people who anonymously gathered for the first street actions “Demanding an Investigation of 9/11” and challenging the official narrative. We published the first Deception Dollars to overcome media censorship of the basic facts about 9/11. We have organized the first showings of 9/11 documentaries, the San Francisco International Inquiry into 9/11, innumerable marches, rallies, educational events, with the help of innumerable people and organizations that have endorsed, sponsored and contributed to all of our efforts. Our stated mission is:

• “to seek and disseminate truths about the terrible crimes committed on September 11, 2001, exposing gaps and deceptions in the official story, and to thus inspire more eyewitness revelations, truthful media coverage, and a movement that will bring the responsible criminals to justice and eliminate governmental and corporate policies that enable criminal elements to commit such acts."

Although we have held regular meetings since December 2002, and are able to accept tax deductible donations through Agape Foundation (since 2004), we are an all volunteer, unincorporated association (basically a mission driven ad-hoc group of activists), that relies totally on the energy, creativity, efforts of each of us.

We have sent out many invitations to our friends, supporters, allies, esteemed indivduals whom we would like to know better. However, we do not have a comprehensive contact list, not even know some of our shy, anonymous, friends' names. Please do not be offended if you are not on our guest list. We do want to acknowledge the contributions of so many to create the space, energy and momentum, to try to shift this nation off the war path, to help make the turn possible, real, happen. It is a time for courage and inspiration, community building for the greater work ahead- a peaceful, just, healthy, better future for all.
