PROTEST Friday at Marine recruiters in Berkeley! No war on Iran!!!

by giovanni (sf [at] worldcantwait.org)
This ORANGE FRIDAY, in Berkeley, demand: NO WAR ON IRAN!
DECLARE IT NOW!
You are not alone in your opposition to George Bush’s attacking IRAN, on top of the war and occupation already devastating IRAQ. Listen up: your opposition doesn’t count unless you Declare It Now! Show it by wearing and displaying orange at work, school, at the mall or the movies – on Fridays and every day of the week.

Join us as World Can’t Wait protests around the country in many cities this ORANGE FRIDAY, October 12:

When: Friday October 12, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Where: At the recently-opened U.S. MARINE CORPS RECRUITING CENTER 64 Shattuck Square Downtown Berkeley, CA (1/2 block south of University Avenue, next to the Copy Central)
Who: You and all your friends and family – especially welcome: students and youth, and anti-war veterans of all generations!

What to bring: Your orange jumpsuits and gear, your signs, your voice, your outrage and your determination, saying NO ATTACK on Iran, no way! And STOP THE WAR on Iraq, right now!

Yes, you read this right: in the heart of downtown Berkeley (just between Berkeley High and the University of California campus!), for the last several months, a Marine Corps recruiting center has quietly been doing its deathly business every weekday, pulling dozens of young people into the illegal and immoral wars (Iraq, Afghanistan) and the global designs of the Bush Regime.

On Friday, many of your friends and neighbors will stand in front of this recruiting station, making clear that we will not be silent while the war crimes go on and on, and the death count mounts higher and higher.

Will you be part of this declaration? Or will you be part of the silence?
