If you are looking for something to do this Spring Break, you might consider taking a look at this vacation work project that is being proposed in the Crystal Lake Recreation Area of the Angeles National Forest. Volunteers who are willing and capable of camping and working in a rugged environment for a week are being sought to participate in what will be a fulfilling and enjoyable adventure.

Details about the proposed project are provided in the first link offered above, and photographs along with a brief description of which is provided in the second link, showing the general condition of the Soldier Creek hiking trail that will be restored.

Volunteers will not be paid and volunteers will be required to provide a fee for the purchase of the food that will be provided for the duration of this project. Since no other expenses will be incurred, the fee for joining this project is solely for food.

If you ever thought about doing something to improve the environment and make a lasting difference in the lives of hikers, campers, and kids who utilize these trails, you might consider giving this project a looking over.

Details about the project will continually be updated at the primary document provided in the first link offered. Toward the middle of January we should know whether we have enough volunteers committed to the project to make it actually go.

You may email me at the links offered on the web site.
