Victoria's Secret Theater Company at the Folsom Street Fair
Queers Undermining Israeli Terrorism (QUIT!) held a fashion show at the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco to publicize the international boycott of Delta Galil, an Israeli company with sweatshops around the world.
Victoria’s Secret Theater Company struck again at the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco on September 29. Offering what they proudly proclaimed was not only the best but the most politically obscure fashion show in the enriched costume environment of the FSF, queer supporters of Palestine strutted their stuff in lingerie such as the “Push-em-out” bra. “Push-em out of Palestine, Push-em out of the Polk, Push-em out of Oakland,” the enthusiastic theater troop shouted. Other popular items included the “Secret Armor Bra,” the “Concertina Wire Bra,” and the “Total Control Camisole.”
The Victoria’s Secret Weapon Campaign is the latest boycott and divestment effort from Queers Undermining Israeli Terrorism (QUIT!) whose previous efforts included the highly successful occupation of a Starbucks Coffee store in Berkeley (“a café without people for people without a café”), which was followed by Starbucks pulling out of Israel (although QUIT! modestly claims no actual credit for Starbucks’ “change” in their business plan). QUIT! also created the award-winning Estee Slaughter cosmetics campaign, featuring the signature fragrance “Occupation – It Stinks.”
The group has denied rumors that the federal trade commission is considering action to break up the developing QUIT! monopoly on fake capitalism in the fashion and cosmetics industries.
