Community Comedy Jam / Justice for Rudy Center

I actually was looking for Peter Maiden. He covered many stories for me in the past and I do not know how to contact him. Maybe you might be able to help me out with someone who can cover a story for me this Saturday.

Hello name is Corina Cardenas from the Justice For Rudy Foundation. My father was shot in 2004 by a State Narcotics Agent name Michael Walker. We indicted Walker for voluntary manslaughter and that was the first state agent in history to be indicted in California. We fought all the way to the criminal trial and the officer was eventually let go like they all do...

So how have you been? I have been great. I am now married and have a family of my own. I have a beautiful daughter and have taken some time away from the police brutality scene. I actually am going to be making a comeback very soon and am going to open a Justice For Rudy Center to help people with their police brutality needs.

In the meantime I have been helping my husband with his Oldies Show and have been speaking out against Police Brutality on there. My Husbands Show has been a hit in the South Bay and is aired out of Santa Clara University This weekend we are throwing a Chicano Comedy Jam and I would love it if you would be able to attend and write a story on the event. My husbands show has been such a hit that the popular Wild 94.9 Oldies show no longer exists. We strongly feel that my husbands show is important for the community because it is keeping the Chicano tradition alive. Our show has also been an place where people can unite as well as use it as a source to get their voices heard.

We are strongly supportive of all community issues and want to get the word out there that our Oldies Show is there if needed. With all the success of the show and support of the sponsors and income of the Comedy Jam we are going to use it to open the Justice for Rudy Center.

My main goal for the Justice for Rudy Center is to help assist people that are brutalized by the police. I strongly feel that when someone files a report with the San Jose Police Auditor it is lost and never heard of again.

My hopes for the center is to have people come to me prior to the auditor and I will help them with their filing and also keep a copy for my own records and make a on line database with all the reports that are filed on the individual officers. I also want to then update the community on the status of what the auditor is doing for each case.

I think as a citizen and as a tax payer I have a right to know what is going on within the Auditors closed doors. I also feel that even if they did open their doors it could lead to such cover up that I wouldn't trust them for one bit.

Especially when I experienced being lied to by the Police Chief Rob Davis himself.

I really hope you would be able to attend because this would be the first step of me coming back to fight for the people's right!

I feel that if I didn't I would be letting my father's memory fade and what happened to him should never be forgotten.

Also as a victim I know how cruel some people can be just to use you and get their name out their for their own exposure and I want people who are victimized to feel comforted that I too have been there and know exactly what they are going through.
