Siege Day 4: 10/7/07: Illegal Strafing by US Military Backdrop to Peace Leafletting

The final day of the San Francisco Columbus Genocide Fleetweek Military Recruiting Show by the US Navy again featured illegal low flights over heavily populated San Francisco from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. making terrible noise, while peaceniks handed out 100 leaflets per hour for the October 27 peace rally at the Civic Center in San Francisco.

The deafening roar nearly knocked us off our feet as we stood ON LAND while the US Navy's Blue Death strafed the homes, hospitals, schools and businesses of San Francisco, especially in the Northeast sector where thousands of people live. One particularly horrific incident was when one Navy terrorist flew his death machine extremely fast and low toward the Bay using the entire length of Polk Street (it runs from City Hall to the Bay) as a low flowing runway, causing shattering of nerves, inability to hear, inability to talk and for some of us, inability to stand. The flights were all so low OVER LAND that we could read with the naked eye the yellow letters "US Navy" on the planes, which means they were TOO LOW and one wrong move would mean their death, as has happened 26 times, and the death of the people on the ground. It was not thrilling and no one was smiling. Many took our leaflets, glad to have an alternative to the horrifying military recruiting show we were all witnessing, glorifying war.

This year’s military terrorism of San Francisco has ended, but there is much to do to put an end to it and its sponsor, the private profit system. In addition to this year’s mayoral race, next November 2008, the presidential general election, we can not only vote Peace & Freedom or Green, the only 2 peace parties on the ballot, we need supervisorial candidates running who want to ban the Navy’s Blue Death and Fleet Week to replace the warmongers, Democrats Michela Alioto-Pier, Carmen Chu, Bevan Dufty, Sean Elsbernd, Sophie Maxwell, Aaron Peskin and Gerardo Sandoval. We also need either a massive signature campaign starting May 2008 or 4 supervisors to put the resolution banning the Navy’s Blue Death from San Francisco on the November 2008 ballot to accompany the Board of Supervisor elections. It is very easy to get signatures for this proposal and it will easily pass as all people over age 40 and all educated people under age 40 support it, the regular voters. When the school board election appears on the ballot again, we need candidates who are committed to banning JROTC, the military recruiting gang in the workingclass schools of San Francisco, to replace the current pro-JROTC warmongers, namely Kim-Shree Maufas, Jill Wynns, Norman Yee, Hydra Mendoza and Jane Kim who are currently trying to extend its life beyond 2008 when it was supposed to end. The REPLACEMENT for JROTC is MORE EDUCATION accompanied by guaranteed free breakfast and lunch for all schoolchildren, intense tutoring of all the students receiving a C or less in required courses and offering courses at all schools that are the same as at Lowell High School and its corresponding middle and grammar schools as Lowell, et al are simply what school should be. Anything less is cheating the students and taxpayers and we are outraged at both the substandard education and the promotion of the stinking, rotten, murderous military in our schools. TO TEACH PEACE, not only must we have top quality EDUCATION for all, we must have ART, MUSIC and DANCE EXERCISE courses at all grade levels, starting at age 3, as culture is the best antidote to the murderous military and is what makes us human. We also must demand public pre-schools for all, ages 3 and 4. The money can come from ABOLISHING THE FOOTBALL TEAMS and demanding that the City of San Francisco, State of California and US government INCREASE THE TAXES ON THE RICH, those who make over $200,000 a year to pay for education, not for war, and the same is true for all other human needs.

Continue leafleting and postering for the October 27, 2007 peace rally and march as we need hundreds of thousands of people to attend to not only ban the Navy’s Blue Death and Fleet Week from San Francisco but to finally end the profit motive that is the cause of all wars.

Our peace march must be filled with LARGE BANNERS AND SIGNS demanding BAN THE NAVY’S BLUE DEATH FLIGHTS AND FLEET WEEK FROM SAN FRANCISCO. This will certainly bring the majority of the 600,000 adults, especially the majority of the 300,000 voters to our peace march which is urgently needed.

You can and should skip the district attorney and sheriff positions as the incumbents who are running for re-election, Kamala Harris for district attorney and Michael Hennessey for sheriff, are both no good for the workingclass. Democrat Kamala Harris was first (s)elected by the same election fraud team that put Nazi Newsom in office in 2003. She has escalated her reactionary actions by actively prosecuting the homeless for being homeless, that is, having no place to sleep but on the ground, and other sometimes related activities, none of which is worth taxpayer money or court time. This is in conjunction with Nazi Democrat Newsom’s perpetual attacks on the homeless, all to promote gentrification and ethnic cleansing of San Francisco, all strongly opposed by Dr. Ahimsa Sumchai. Then there is the infamous strip searching deputy sheriff scandal of 2003, when Democrat Michael Hennessey was sheriff, and still is, running for office for the 8th time for a 4 year term, defended this despicable and unnecessary practice, which included putting people in barbaric cold room jail cells naked overnight, with the hoodlum deputy sheriffs banging on the doors every hour, making any sleep impossible. For allowing that practice, not only should Hennessey have been forced to resign; he should have been disbarred as he is a lawyer.
