Sustainable San Rafael and the city of San Rafael will host a community forum on community choice aggregation Oct. 8.
"Making Sense of Community Choice Power" will feature speakers such as Marin Supervisor Charles McGlashan, Paul Fenn, author of Assembly Bill 117, California's community choice law and San Rafael City Manager Ken Nordhoff and member of the community choice task force.

Community Choice Power (aka Community Choice Aggregation) is a new approach to electric power that would give a local power authority to act as a "purchasing agent" for wholesale electricity, while PG&E would continue to provide all the transmission, distribution and billing services.
