UAW, UC Reach Tentative Agreement on New Contract

In addition to securing a 5% pay increase effective today, we resisted the administration's proposed cutbacks, preserved past gains, and made substantial improvements on compensation and workplace rights and protections. While the UC administration refused to agree to everything that readers, tutors, and TAs deserve, we are committed to achieving advancements in rights, benefits and social justice.

Upon ratification by the membership, the contract will be in effect from October 1, 2007 until September 30, 2009. Details of the contract and the announcement of a ratification vote will be forthcoming.
