The Nixticuil Forest is Being Destroyed

by Comité Salvabosque Tigre II (salvabosquetigre2 [at] yahoo.com.mx)
The families who are Comité Salvabosque Tigre II (Salvabosque Tigre II Committee), after 2 years of fight and to get the declaratory to the Nixticuil forest like natural protected area, we continue defending against the capitalists intereses, who after their lie of protection, are trying to co-manage the natural resourses behind the comercialsm logic. In Mexico it is being tried to consolidate a new phase of the advance of the big capitalists, now on the forests, seas, jungles, and waters of Jalisco.

That’s like the Committee sees the necessity to denounce that since four months ago, the capitalist Francisco Ibarra Garcia is destroying 1.7 hectares of the ancient Nixticuil forest and that the Corporative of the Leaño family, who shields itself in the Independent University of Guadalajara tries to destroy more than 16.000 trees to initiate the construction of a Park of Scientific research and Technological on 51 hectares of the Nixticul forest, with the support and the protection of the Municipal government of Zapopan, Jalisco.

These capitalist want to construct their projects on the forest and he doesn’t care that this ends whit hundreds of trees, the habitat of species in extinction danger (Red- Tailed hawk, Snapping Turtle, four types of Hummingbirds, Deaf hawk, Sparrow hawk, Cooper’s hawk…) and destroy the water resourses that the forest generates and from the nerby communities supply of (San Esteban community, San Miguel Tateposco and Rio Blanco).

For us is not a suprise that the governments pretend protection to our Mother Earth, because they permit its destruction with the lie of the bad called development (development, who for?).

The Salvabosque Tigre II Committee recognizes in you like companions and knows about you worthy fight and the commitment that you have in the construction of other world(s).

What we see, in the action of the articulated complaint with you, one way of opposition in front of the economic globalization model it sees the nature like simple merchandise in hands of the highest bidder. It is by that the families who we are the Committee we asked you, like an honest organization which you are, it sent of a letter for the Zapopan local government and to the federal government, like a pressure measurement to stop the forest destruction and the possible repressive actions.

AUTONOMY, AUTOGESTION, SELF GOVERNMENT!
Comité Salvabosque Tigre II

This is one example of the letter that you can send to the Zapopan local government and the federal government in their Federal Office of Protection to the Atmosphere (In Spanish: Procuraduria Federal de Proteccion al Ambiente -PROFEPA):

Engineer Juan Sánchez Aldana
Local president of Zapopan.

Or

Dr. José de Jesús Becerra
Delegate of the PROFEPA in Jalisco.

We support the exigency of The Salvabosque Tigre II Committee, of which the works of urbanization stop on the forest the Nixticuil on the part of the capitalist Francisco Ibarra Garcia de Quevedo, and who stops the project of the Corporative Leaño, that implies the destruction of more than 16.000 trees for the construction of a Park of Scientific research and Technological on 51 hectares of the Nixticuil.
And so, the hundred year Nixticuil forest be respected, the habitat of the animal species and vegetables protected, they’re found, as well as the hidrologic resourses itgenerates and form the nearby communities supply of.

That Local government does not yield to the particular intereses of enviromental criminals like Francisco Ibarra Garcia and the Corporative Leaño, who threaten with destroyin the Nixticuil forest and the despoliation on those who lives it and takes care of him to use it in the obtaining enormous economical profits.

Thus, we demanded take all the necessary actions to stop this ecocide, to guarantee the collective rights to conserving the natural state of the forest, rather than personal benefits for capital intereses as those of Francisco Ibarra Garcia and the Corporative Leaño.
