4th Tuesday Films: Battle's Poison Cloud

The war is not over for the people of Vietnam. The extensive use of chemicals over thirty-five years ago is still causing devastating damage to humans and to nature. US forces experimented with thousands of chemicals, ranging from herbicides and defoliants to asphyxiates, teargas, nerve gas and insecticides; sources estimate 17.6 million gallons were used. Agent Orange, one of the main defoliates used by the US, is tainted with the deadly poison dioxin. Since the war, Vietnam has recorded extraordinarily high numbers of birth abnormalities in first and second generations.
