Made From Scrap: Recycling Workshops For The Resourceful
We 'd like to announce San Francisco's re-source workshop warehouse, where recycling becomes everyday art. We transform the consumer routine of discarding things into a dapper dexterity for making new-fangled bird feeders, wallets, and wall-hangings. And this is just the beginning. Gathered between the walls of our Bayview warehouse location are resourceful learners, artists and enthusiasts mingling and creating, with an alluring eye for "re"-ing. Visit http://www.madefromscrap.org to sign up for classes and put yourself on our newsletter.

We transform the consumer routine of discarding things into a dapper dexterity for making new-fangled bird feeders, wallets, and wall-hangings. And this is just the beginning. Our October schedule has just been filled out with classes ranging from wallet making, rug making, silk-screening, papermaking and more, and all classes are hinged on the idea of recycling. Gathered between the walls of our Bayview warehouse location are resourceful learners, artists and enthusiasts mingling and creating, with an alluring eye for "re"-ing.
Made From Scrap classes are for the people, by the people. This means anyone can teach and everyone can learn. Our teachers are those with a special knack for transforming ready-made objects. And all are welcomed to apply to become a teacher for an evening, special project, and more. Our students are those from the artsy in-hiding to the extraordinaire. And our workshops come from what our students and teachers suggest, from the objects they want to resource (milk cartons, phone books, wood pallets) to the ones they want to remake (planter, table top, hat stand). Through citywide partnerships with other socially responsible companies and organizations, all materials expenses are covered, though students are encouraged to bring their own "old stuff."
Visit our website at http://www.madefromscrap.org now to book some spots for you and your buds. Sign up for our newsletter to keep abreast on all of our new workshop offerings.
