Protesters Make Voices Heard at Helen Wills 10th Anniversary Celebration
Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute Celebration Protested By Students, Community Members.
Today, 20-25 protesters kept their ground out side of the berkeley city club who was hosting the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute 10th anniversary celebration. On the bill to speak were "researchers" such as Yang Dan and Dan Feldman. The protest was a peaceful one, but not quiet. Protesters made their voices heard as mutilators celebrated 10 years of animal torture. At one point distinguished professor Frederic Theunissen came out, shoved his camera into protester's faces and physically harassed protesters. Few who came out of the building began dialog with the protesters, but all seemed to be too much in a state of emotional distress to carry on a decent debate. Today's protest will not be the last in the uc berkeley area, more protesting at events is planned.

Norwegian Whaling Ship Sunk
Animal Liberation Front takes credit for the sinking

news
On the night of august 30th we decided to celebrate the end of commercial whaling in Iceland by removing a large section of cooling pipe in the engine room of the norwegian whaler - whale blogger
The salt water intake valve was opened unleashing a torrent of water into the heart of the killer ship that two years earlier took 14 minutes to brutally murder a threatened minke whale. only seven died in this raid. ELF sent word taking credit for this new attack
The sinking of the whaler and the silencing of its deadly harpoon is dedicated to the memory of the yangtze river dolphin who because of humankinds greed will never again grace the waters of our blue planet. The turn of our wrenches is a rational response to a world where tens of thousands of species disappear every year.
- Mraven
This is the fifth Norwegian whaler that has come under attack from ELF for illegal whaling activities since 1992. The others were:
The Nybraena - scuttled dockside in the Lofoten Island in December 1992.
The Senet - Scuttles dockside in Fredricksberg, Norway in January 1994.
The Elin-Toril - Severely damaged in 1997.
The Morild - Sunk in 1998.
The Williassen Senior - Sunk in August 2007

if you want to think for yourself, question extreme claims and require extreme evidence before you believe.
It's not animal rights activists who have the upper hand in this debate. It's vivisectors, with the backing of the NIH.
Vivisection is well documented. There's tons of video/photographic evidence, as well as the research documents of the 'researchers' themselves. Look into it. Vivisectors always fall back on the bogus claim that they are 'trying to cure cancer' but most of the research I've found is abstract curiousity. Read about Yang Dan's vision experiments and how she recorded "the world through a cat's eyes" after inserting electrodes into their pain.
With that said, To cause pain and suffering to one species in an attempt to alleviate pain and suffering is SPECIESISM. It's simple to make a direct analogy between speciesism and sexism, racism, and ageism.

pain = brain. sorry for the typo.
UC had StopCalVivisection's last site taken down to hide the violence of their vivisection labs.
