Iraq Moratorium Actions in Palo Alto
University Avenue and Emerson Street
Downtown Palo Alto
~ Vigil ~ Leafletting ~ Phoning the White House ~
The Iraq Moratorium is a monthly series of national actions demanding an end to the war. Commencing on Friday, September 21st and continuing on the third Friday of every month thereafter, antiwar activists around the country will make a break with business as usual and take action in their communities to stop the occupation and destruction of Iraq.
In our first local moratorium action, we will focus on reaching out to those who oppose the war but haven't yet spoken up against it. We will leaflet downtown during the lunch hour, collect postcards, vigil and set up a temporary Peace Phone Booth so that passers-by can call the White House and Congress on the spot to say "Troops Out Now!"
The war has got to stop, and we can stop it!
The noontime action will be part of a day of activities up and down the Peninsula and throughout the Bay Area organized by various local groups demanding an immediate end to the military and economic occupation of Iraq. For a complete list of Peninsula and South Bay actions, visit www.PeaceandJustice.org/moratorium
Sponsored by Peninsula Peace and Justice Center and other local groups.
