Come out on September 27th 5-9pm to the Uhuru Benefit Art Auction for an exciting evening of refreshments, cultural performances and both a silent and live auction! There will be paintings, multi media, sculpture, jewelry, fashions, music, a 5 layer cake and much more...
Uhuru Benefit Art Auction is raising money for the Uhuru Movement, which leads powerful campaigns and operates institutions that unite all African people to reclaim control over the vast resources of Africa.
With over half of the people in Africa living on less than $2/day and Africans everywhere experiencing poverty and oppression, genuine economic development can only occur when all the resources of Africa belong to African people.
Also, it's not too late to donate your art. Art donations are
tax-deductible!
The team meets every Sunday at Noon at Rock Paper Scissors Collective, 2278 Telegraph Ave., Oakland. The cross street is 23rd St. (With the exception of Sunday Sept. 16th when the meeting will be at Uhuru Solidarity Center instead √ 1601- 2nd Ave. The cross street is E.16th St.
We need volunteers on th eday and night of the auction too!
The Uhuru Benefit Art Auction is a project of the African Liberation Solidarity Campaign. And is co-sponsored by the African Peoples Education & Defense Fund, Inc.
