Week of Action
Sep 24 – 28, 2007
Financial District, San Francisco
San Francisco’s security workers are taking to the streets to demand the city’s wealthiest property owners, including Shorenstein, Morgan Stanley and Hines, give them a living wage and decent health care benefits. Mostly people of color and new immigrants, San Francisco’s security workers earn less than everyone else in the city’s commercial property buildings, including window washers, parking attendants and janitors.
Because of these poverty conditions security workers sometimes have to work two or three jobs to make ends meet. For more info: http://www.seiu247.org
After months of failed negotiations with property owners and security contractors, San Francisco’s security workers have had enough. They are taking to San Francisco’s streets Sep Mon 24 - Fri 28 for a week of direct action to get what they need and deserve. In order to win these workers need the public support of people in the community – people like you!
