World Can't Wait memorializes New Orleans in Oakland FEMA on Katrina anniversarsary
In the face of security guards saying they have "no right to be here," World Can't Wait defied The Man on the anniversary of the Katrina disaster at the building housing the FEMA office in Oakland.
Carrying a coffin emblazened with the name of the still ravaged city, WCW activists demanded an end to the racial cleansing the Bush administration continues to perpetuate in the lower ninth ward.
Security Guards blocked the activists from going up the elevator to the FEMA office, so the activists conducted a speak-out in the lobby, disrupting business as usual. The action lasted about an hour and half, and culminated when World Can't Wait moved on to the Federal Building.
