Tim Burton's brilliant first film is easily one of my favorite movies; it keeps me laughing no matter how many times I see it: Pee-wee's most prized possession, his shiny new bicycle, is stolen, and he sets off on an obsessive cross-country journey, determined to recover it.
Start the night off right with a Bike Ride!
Meet at the Bike Church at 7:30 to ride to the movie site together. The Bike Church is at 703 Pacific, across the street from The Saturn Cafe.
After the ride we will show exciting bicycle shorts followed by a fantastic intermission. Get ready for bike sumo, bicycle strategizing, meeting others in the bicycling community and more! After the movie, plan on a midnight mystery ride
that will keep you riding until dawn!
BRING: YOUR BICYCLE, lawn chairs, blankets, pillows, friends, wine, & food to share for intermission. Donations are greatly appreciated and directly support the project. (We are currently saving to get a spare projector bulb.)
SANTA CRUZ GUERILLA DRIVE-IN is an outdoor movie theater under the stars that springs up unexpectedly in the fields and industrial wastelands. Beyond showing great movies and bringing a broad community together, part of our mission is helping reclaim public space and transforming our urban environment into the joyful playground it should be.
