BMagic in the house - Jeff Adachi and his supporters give away free backpacks to children.
Since 2004 BMagic has helped hundreds of youth in the Bayview. BMagic, founded by Jeff Adachi our SF Public Defender, works with other organizations and tries to address the many adverse issues that plague the youth in the Bayview Hunters Point. Hundreds of free backpacks were distributed. Hot dogs, fresh fruit and water and other goodies on the house. It was a nice sunny Saturday, August 25, 2007 and I was there for a short while.
Jeff Adachi is our elected Public Defender and a person that truly has the interests of the youth at heart.
Jeff has worked in the Bayview Hunters Point for many years so he truly understands the plight of the poor youth and those that get into trouble, many a time because of circumstances beyond their control.
I too am involved in helping youth and at times depend on some one from the Public Defender's Office to help the troubled youth.
We do have a sound Public Defender's system in San Francisco one of the better ones in the Nation.
The BMagic event held August 25, 2007 in an annual one and hundreds of backpacks were distributed to the youth. It was fun to see many gathered and all having a good time.
There was music and good food. The young children has fun things to do and parents could visit the many booths and gather sound information.
I did get to meet many hard working individuals that have sacrificed so much for our youth in San Francisco.
