KeepingKidsSafeToday.com's annual National Back To School Safer campaign kicks off for 2007 today. Not only does the campaign focus on sending children back to school safer this year, it also focuses on heightening parent awareness of child abuse without fear or paranoia.

KeepingKidsSafeToday.Com's Back To School campaign has a unique approach to child safety called prevention, and doesn't say don't talk to strangers, child molesters are strangers or that child abusers can be spotted in a crowd. And that's fine by Preston Jones and Joyce Jackson, President and Vice President of KeepingKidsSafeToday.com, because "those are false safety notions from the past and they aren't effective safety techniques for the 21st century." They are old, tired tips from 30 years ago. "Today's child molester is usually someone the child knows," says Jones. "Kids going back to school will be around new students, teachers and coaches and need to know how to keep themselves safe," adds Jackson.

Like their highly successful Keeping Kids Safe Program (now in its fifth year), KeepingKidsSafeToday.com's campaign provides concrete material and safety tips for today's parents. Their free Back To School Parent Quick Quiz, "How Safe Is Your Child?" is full of questions for parents along with practical and effective information that anyone with children needs, such as how to deal with strangers, how to create a nucleus of safety around your child and online internet safety for kids. In addition to the basic child safety "How To's," the Quick Quiz also offers many "insider tips" that Preston and Joyce have gleaned from decades of working with kids, psychology training and martial arts backgrounds.

So far, parent response to "How Safe Is Your Child?" has been very positive. For example, says Joyce, "there have been a couple of parents that have called us just to say they never knew there was something called the 'Belly Brain' their child has that can keep them safe when they are around questionable adults. It's really great when parents are taking the Quick Quiz and then taking action to keep their kids safer."

While recent news headlines evoke images of fear and worry for parents about sexual predators prowling our neighborhoods and chat rooms for victims, "How Safe Is Your Child?" tells you how to stay one step in front of child abusers with real things to teach your child in a manner they can understand. More importantly, the Quick Quiz shows how to do it in such a way that is not frightening or fearful even to the child as young as five years old.

Parents wanting to send their children off to school safer will be able to find "How Safe Is Your Child?" geared toward children being able to keep themselves safe when Mom or Dad are not around, like at school or in after school activities. You can also log onto the company's blog to share opinions and observations, or ask questions.

Keeping Kids Safe and KeepingKidsSafeToday.com is a child personal safety program that focuses on prevention. The company is based in Walnut Creek, California whose mission is teaching kids how to keep themselves safe. They provide training for children and their families with an emphasis on safety for kids when Mom and Dad are not around. To order your free copy of their "How Safe Is Your Child?"
