LAS VEGAS, Aug. 8, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Samaritan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AMEX:LIV - News), a developer of innovative drugs, announced today that it has entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with Georgetown University for a new innovative drug SP-6300 to treat Cushing's syndrome.
Cushing's syndrome, sometimes called ``hypercortisolism,'' is a hormonal disorder caused by prolonged exposure of the body's tissues to high levels of the stress hormone called cortisol. Long-term (chronic) use of corticosteroid medications, for the treatment of conditions such as lupus, asthma, and rheumatoid arthritis, is the most common cause of Cushing's syndrome. Patients who develop Cushing's exhibit a variety of symptoms including weight gain, fatigue, muscle weakness, diabetes, high blood pressure, depression, and osteoporosis. Facts about Samaritan
1) The CEO has run several major scams before, including a $100 million fraud against insurance companies that left many people with unwarranted medical records. She is not a "Dr." despite the fact that she calls herself one. She has a PhD from a shut-down diploma mill. In SEC documents and other bios she falsely claims (among other things): to have received a presidential appointment from Jimmy Carter, to be an associate professor at several universities, and to have received a degree in restaurant/hotel management from a school that has never existed.
2) Her son, also possessing bogus degrees from an online law school, is the CFO and COO.
3) The company has around 10 employees. At least 4 of the people on the payroll are related to each other and live at the same address.
4) The market cap is now about $36 million. They have gone through over $150 million in funds.
5) They do not employ a single medical doctor or person qualified to develop drugs. Their chief drug development officer is a pharmacist who never had a "Dr." in his title until he landed at LIV, and who has a shaky professional history of his own.
6) Every drug they claim "in development" is either in pre-clinical stage (12 years away from market) or has been abandoned.
7) Every drug they have in development is essentially a mixture of commonly available substances that have no valuable properties for the diseases they are "developing" them for. A product known as �Gerovital,� also a mixture of procaine hydrochloride and vitamins, is already available.
8) They do not own the rights to and have been denied a �use patent� for the one substance (a "food product" in Nevada) currently undergoing early Phase II FDA testing (4 years after Phase I, in a different category, with no published results). LIV falsely advertised this product for years as having completed Phase II.
9) The company sold unregistered securities to SteinMorgan, a boilerroom operation that has been busted many times for illegal sales and tactics.
Facts that are second-hand but not disputed:
10) There is a substantial connection between the CEO and the Church of $cientology, widely regarded as an international criminal organization that specializes in money-laundering.
11) They have misused shareholder money in various ways, including lavish month-long trips to Europe on the excuse of presenting at a 1-day conference. The mother-and-son team is paid $765,000 a year in salary alone.
12) Georgetown professors are paid to add their name to the company and to add Greeson's name to junk research performed years ago. They are not conducting any experiments that could benefit Samaritan shareholders. There is no such thing as �Samaritan Research Laboratories,� despite references in the press and SEC documents.
13) Their so-called �charitable foundation� has no funding from the corporation and no intent other than to garner misleading publicity for the company.
Conclusion: The entire company is a scam. There is no intention to ever develop a worthwhile drug. They only want to release press releases, pump the stock, and live fat and happy on investor dollars until the company goes bankrupt.

announced today it has completed licensing of several new discoveries for
Alzheimer's, under its Georgetown University collaboration with Samaritan
Labs. Samaritan is well-positioned to become a "force" in the treatment of

treated today, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Janet Greeson, said

Georgetown University brings more than seven technologies into Samaritan,

Facts about Samaritan
1) The CEO has run several major scams before, including a $100 million fraud against insurance companies that left many people with unwarranted medical records. She is not a "Dr." despite the fact that she calls herself one. She has a PhD from a shut-down diploma mill. In SEC documents and other bios she falsely claims (among other things): to have received a presidential appointment from Jimmy Carter, to be an associate professor at several universities, and to have received a degree in restaurant/hotel management from a school that has never existed.
2) Her son, also possessing bogus degrees from an online law school, is the CFO and COO.
3) The company has around 10 employees. At least 4 of the people on the payroll are related to each other and live at the same address.
4) The market cap is now about $36 million. They have gone through over $150 million in funds.
5) They do not employ a single medical doctor or person qualified to develop drugs. Their chief drug development officer is a pharmacist who never had a "Dr." in his title until he landed at LIV, and who has a shaky professional history of his own.
6) Every drug they claim "in development" is either in pre-clinical stage (12 years away from market) or has been abandoned.
7) Every drug they have in development is essentially a mixture of commonly available substances that have no valuable properties for the diseases they are "developing" them for. A product known as �Gerovital,� also a mixture of procaine hydrochloride and vitamins, is already available.
8) They do not own the rights to and have been denied a �use patent� for the one substance (a "food product" in Nevada) currently undergoing early Phase II FDA testing (4 years after Phase I, in a different category, with no published results). LIV falsely advertised this product for years as having completed Phase II.
9) The company sold unregistered securities to SteinMorgan, a boilerroom operation that has been busted many times for illegal sales and tactics.
Facts that are second-hand but not disputed:
10) There is a substantial connection between the CEO and the Church of $cientology, widely regarded as an international criminal organization that specializes in money-laundering.
11) They have misused shareholder money in various ways, including lavish month-long trips to Europe on the excuse of presenting at a 1-day conference. The mother-and-son team is paid $765,000 a year in salary alone.
12) Georgetown professors are paid to add their name to the company and to add Greeson's name to junk research performed years ago. They are not conducting any experiments that could benefit Samaritan shareholders. There is no such thing as �Samaritan Research Laboratories,� despite references in the press and SEC documents.
13) Their so-called �charitable foundation� has no funding from the corporation and no intent other than to garner misleading publicity for the company.
Conclusion: The entire company is a scam. There is no intention to ever develop a worthwhile drug. They only want to release press releases, pump the stock, and live fat and happy on investor dollars until the company goes bankrupt.

a) The particular stock authorities you blame and consider "in collusion" for "not stopping it" CAN'T stop it any more than anybody can stop the flood of spam.
b) You have NO evidence about WHO is doing it. The reality is that those directly connected to the companies so used might not have anything to do with the scam operation. PLEASE -- I am NOT saying that they don't, just that you presumably have no evidence either way. There is nothing to prevent unkown party X from aquiring a block of stock in some worthless company and then hiring some spammers in safe location X (presumably paying them in untracable cash) to pump out hype on the company.
c) Your bitching that you have no way to short into these bubbles that you know (suspect) are fraudulent does not elicit sympathy. You are mad because you can't profit from the scam?
Cut it out! Consider yourself lucky to be being ignored. Even if many of your acusations were true (with regard to certain individuals you name) it is equally likely that untrue for others of them AND you don't have any evidence to back up your claims in a court of law. Understand? THEY don't have to prove themselves innocent in a libel action -- YOU have to prove them guilty. Show that your claims were not made in reckless disregard of truth.
Presuambly you don't have enough in the way of assets to make it worth while to sue you.

The company was formed by Alfred T. Sapse. The company was formed to develop a drug named Anticort now know as SP-01A. The Only Clinical Trial ever completed on SP-01A was completed in August 2001 by the AIDS Research Alliance. The test failed, the test results did not meet the end results stated in the protocol.

The big glaring omission in their research is they have no idea the drug passes through the blood brain barrier considering they have only looked at the drug with ground up rat brains.

In October of 2005, the Legal Counsel’s office was charged with the responsibility to manage all intellectual property owned by the LVCVA.After substantial discussions and adjustments in the internal policy, aninternal policy was adopted wherein the LVCVA would protect itstrademarks when the third party use was materially detrimental to the destination or to the LVCVA’s advertising campaign. Pursuant to thatinternal policy, Staff determined that there are two possible applicationsfor trademark that may fall under the policy.The first one is an application filed by a company named Samaritan Pharmaceuticals. They seek to use the mark “What Happens in Vegas,Does Not Always Stay in Vegas”,
to market their drug lines, which includes immune AIDS drugs.And the second one is an application by a T-shirt company that wants to market T-shirts that have “What Happens in blank, Stays in blank”. Theblanks are then filled-in by the T-shirt company with names of destinations that are currently in competition with Las Vegas and Clark County. Mr. Puschnig said that this is not litigation. It is an opposition inthe United States Patent and Trademark Office that will be determined inadministrative proceeding before the United States Patent and Trademark Office personnel. He believes that there is a potential for significant costs related to opposing these applications. The links below lead to 3 official Florida documents censuring Janet Greeson for: running a counseling center without proper licenses; having an unethical and inappropriate sexual relationship with a patient in which he paid her for sex with cash, hair services, and hair products for her and her family; attempting to coerce a patient into fraudulently claiming his salon employees as �counselors� of her facility for health insurance purposes; and having an inappropriate relationship with his business partner, also a patient, who testified in agreement to the above and more.

This same Janet Greeson went on to run a national scam enterprise which bilked $100 million from insurance companies by *institutionalizing* overweight people, often without their knowledge or consent (according to "48 Hours" and other press sources), leaving them with embarrassing medical histories for the rest of their lives.

"The Janet Greeson weight clinics (A Place for Us), based in Orlando Florida, have largely folded as a result of lawsuits for fraud. Greeson, author of popular books reflecting her view that eating disorders arise from deep-seated trauma, usually child sexual abuse, received her Ph.D. from Columbia Pacific University, an unaccredited correspondence school. Some people responded to her ads for a stay in weight control clinics only to find themselves confined to private psychiatric hospitals. "Fat farms" as they are called have masqueraded as psychiatric centers because most health plans do not cover weight-reduction therapy. The hospitals submitted claims (mostly from people who were out of state and insured by Blue Cross in their home states) to the insurers and paid Greeson a flat fee for each patient. The peak years for the Greeson clinics were 1989-1991 during which it is estimated they generated $100 million in billings. Greeson claims that she is the innocent object of a Blue Cross vendetta that has crippled her business. Aetna has also filed a similar suit.
Greeson claims to have degrees from at least one college that denies she ever attended (Rollins College) and another one from a college that never existed (University of Michigan at Mid-Florida), and associate professorships at colleges that would never hire someone with a PhD from a shut-down mail-order diploma mill with no academic standards.

Her current scam is one that she and her son stole from the charlatan who first tried to market an anti-cortisol known as Anticort (now known as SP01-A), procaine hydrochloride plus vitamins and stabilizers. Greeson and her son come out every few months with a new pretend application for procaine just to pump the stock.
Out there? How about claiming to be personal friends of Nancy Reagan, Bill Clinton, and Mother Teresa? How about claiming to have been appointed to a cabinet position by Jimmy Carter before being nominated special mayor of Las Vegas?
