Patrick McCully Pours Cold Water on Hydropower Hype and Flood Control Myths

Learn about how dams and levees can actually worsen floods in a rapidly warming world, and find out why the clean and green hype promoting hydropower dams is less than meets the eye. Patrick McCully, Executive Director of International Rivers Network, speaks at the Commonwealth Club on Monday, Aug. 6 at 5:30 pm about “Dams and Global Warming: Polluting Reservoirs, Droughts and Floods.”

McCully’s talk is part of the Commonwealth Club’s “Cool Clear Water” series devoted to highlighting the coming global water crisis. Reception at 5:30 pm. Event at 6:00pm sharp. Free for Commonwealth Club members, $15 for non-members. For more information call 415-597-6700.
