Daughters of the Goddess

O Sekhmet, Ardent Flame, who lights a fire, when she took the torch!

Sekhmet, Egyptian Goddess of Anger, Healing, and Midwifery, invites us to honor our own anger. She teaches us to face our anger in healthy ways, with the goal of transformation. Amy Sophia Marashinsky writes, “Don’t give away your anger. Learn to express it in a way that it can be heard. Learn to transform it so it empowers and energizes you. Your path to wholeness will be more vital when you make anger your ally”. Does anger, yours or someone else’s, make you feel uncomfortable? Do you fear your anger because you were taught anger isn’t nice? Or that expressing anger is ugly? Have you repressed or disconnected from it so much that you don’t know how to express it now?

We will be working with any anger that we are ready to release and transform. Please, if you are one of our Temple’s Sekhmet Sacred Flame Tenders, bring your candle to be blessed by Sekhmet.

Please bring an orange, yellow or red candle as well as any images of Sekhmet, the Sun or Lions, for the altar. You may also bring any images connected to your own anger that you wish to burn. Please bring a tithe of $3 (or any multiple of 3, i.e. $6, $9, $12, $15…) that we will gift to the Sekhmet Temple in Nevada: http://www.sekhmettemple.com

For more information please see on Sekhmet or for participation detail. http://www.DaughtersoftheGoddess.com

Daughters of the Goddess is a Dianic womyn-only Goddess Temple dedicated to honoring Multicultural Goddesses through rituals and celebrating ceremonies of Womyn's Mysteries in the Spirit of Aloha. We generally have two rituals a month and are always looking for new womyn who feel the call of the Goddess. For more information, ritual calendar and newsletter check out our website.
