World Can't Wait Youth and Student Conference July 12-16th

by Otis
2008 is too late! What harm can Bush do before his term is up? He can . . . . . . bomb Iran. Appoint another Supreme Court justice. More war, more lies, more torture.

Enough is enough! Relying on the Democrats to stop this has not gotten us anywhere. Anger is justified, despair is not. The 70% that agree with us but are demoralized or waiting for Obama or Hillary to save us need to come into political life and start taking action. And the youth need to be at the forefront, setting off a resistance movement all throughout society.

Take part in the National World Can't Wait Youth and Student Conference this July 12-16!

The conference will be a gathering of youth from across the country for an exciting week of workshops, panels, outreach, wide-ranging discussions and film screenings. The conference will also serve as an opportunity to work with others from around the country to build a student movement on campuses and map out our plans (materials, outreach, mass mobilizations, teach-ins, concerts, etc.) for the rest of the Summer and the Fall semester.

yeah - that's depressing. I know World Can't Wait was founded by some RCP people, but how long were the string's attached, and are they separate groups now? Are any of the big national anti-occupation groups okay? I know that it is apparently hard to achieve such levels of organization without a bunch of worker bees stuffing envelopes, collecting some money, and having relatively few arguments among the leaders. There haven't been many big marches in the past two years, even though the civil war participants and guerilla fighters targeting americans are more effective than ever.

Ahmed is a troll. He used to post as Steve and before that under a few other names. I think he is some right-winger who lives in Berkeley and works for the City of San Francisco and somehow has a lot of time to post snide comments from work. Sooner or later he will get in trouble for posting stuff from work but until then its best not to respond to him since his entire reason for posting is to get you angry.

The World Can't Wait organization is still a front group for the RCP. Once you start a movement like that, you don't just let go.

No state or party will bring about mass social change, because mass social change is contrary to their primary mission, which is to stay in power. The only way to achieve freedom, equality, and brotherhood is to create it ourselves, in the streets, on the factory floors, in the fields, behind the bookshelves, and wherever else one can talk and act freely.

Replacing Bush with Cheney, or Kerry, or Clinton, or Obama, or anyone, will only change the figurehead which we blame for the same, ongoing, systematic problems. Replacing all of them with a new Mao or Lenin, like Bob Avakian, will do nothing but change the face of power.

If you want Freedom, take it. Don't let any party or state co-opt your dreams, your hopes, your life. They all just want power for themselves.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
