Thousands take the streets to kick-off US Social Forum in Atlanta, GA
ATLANTA (June 27, 2007) - Thousands braved the sweltering heat of Atlanta, GA to kick-off the first ever United States Social Forum marching behind the banner "Another World is Possible; Another U.S. is Necessary." It is estimated that almost 10,000 people registered for the forum making it one of largest working gatherings of US social justice movements in recent history.

Kenneth Glasgow (right), founder of The Ordinary People Society (T.O.P.S.) help to lead opening march of the first ever U.S. Social Forum.


Over 500 community members from the Gulf Coast region traveled to the US Social Forum.
