site (Cesar Chavez and Mission) and turn it into low-income housing and a
new day laborer center!
Dear friends and allies,
We are extremely excited to announce the SF Day Labor Program's
collaboration with the Mission Anti-Displacement Coalition and other
community allies in organizing a week of ACTION to acquire the Kellymoore
site (Cesar Chavez and Mission) and turn it into low-income housing and a
new day laborer center!
As you know, a private developer wants to build luxury condos and a
Walgreen's at the site. We want housing for the people and a large
immigrant worker center!
On July 17, the Board of Supervisors will hear our appeal for this site.
Building up to the hearing date, we will be having activities everyday in
front of the property, 3400 Cesar Chavez St. Special activities will take
place at noon, or at 4 pm, depending on the day. We'll send you the exact
schedule later today. In addition, we'll have a constant presence there all
week. We will show that the property already belongs to the community!
PLEASE JOIN US! STOP BY TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!
WHEN: July 9-16, all the time!
WHERE: 3400 Cesar Chavez St. (@ Mission)
For more info, please feel free to contact me at renee [at] lrcl.org, (415)
