     HEAR VIETNAMESE AGENT ORANGE SURVIVORS 

 & THEIR STRUGGLE FOR JUSTICE

These survivors of exposure to Agent Orange/dioxin poisoning are in the US to attend the hearing in NYC on the Vietnamese Victims of Agent Orange against 26 chemical companies on June 18.

 

Tran Xuan Thu Head of Delegation, Ph.D. of Chemistry, Vice President of the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange / Dioxin.

 

Nguyen Thi Hong

From Bien Hoa had multiple premature births and serious illnesses from living near Agent Orange contaminated Bien Hung Lake.

Vo Thanh Hai

A post-war victim, a forest replanter from Hue who suffers from Hodgkins Disease as a result of dioxin in food and water in heavily sprayed Nam Dong in the 1980’s.

Nguyen Muoi

Son of an ARVN veteran from Hue who suffers from spina bifida. His father was exposed to Agent Orange in the 1970’s as an army cook in the A Luoi Valley.

Nguyen Van Quy Veteran, communication line repairman from Thai Binh; served on the Ho Chi Minh Trail 1972-1975, suffers from stomach cancer, liver damage, and has 3 disabled children.

These men and women have lived through and with Agent Orange poisoning, and have very important stories to tell.  Come share their experiences, and support them in their effort to secure a measure relief for their country from this blight of war, Agent Orange.

FACTS:

§  3 million Vietnamese people and hundreds of thousands of U.S. veterans and their families are affected by Agent Orange – a chemical weapon used by the U.S. government during the war.

§  Agent Orange causes cancer, and birth defects in hundreds of thousands of children.

§  Agent Orange continues to poison the soil and natural environment of Vietnam.

§  U.S. veterans and victims from New Zealand and Great Britain have been compensated but Vietnamese victims have not received a dime.
