Cal Dining Workers Get Pay Raise
The non-student, food service workers at Cal Dining have been paid $11.25 since last August.
Administrators could not be reached Friday for comment about the raise.
Some student workers said they were both pleased and dismayed by the outcome.
“We consider it a victory but we’re still pointing out that not all demands are met yet and we’ll continue to fight,” Bunner said. “We still feel there’s a lot that has to be addressed.”
The student workers’ list of demands put forth in April asked that students receive equal pay to coworkers retroactive to last August, Bunner said.
It was also requested that students receive paychecks twice a month rather than the monthly paycheck currently in place, he said.
