Peace Fresno Rally’s Against the War

Statement from Peace Fresno

Last November the American people voted for a Democratic Congress to reverse the Bush Agenda and specifically to end the war. Peace Fresno members and all those who voted in November to end the war are frustrated and angry that the Democratic majority has failed to respond to that mandate. At the end of May, Rep. Jim Costa, Sen. Feinstein, and the area Republican representatives all voted to continue the war.

Peace Fresno has frequently asked to meet with our area representatives. Rep Costa has agreed to meet with us on Monday, June 4. We will talk to him about his recent vote, about the necessity of ending this immoral and illegal occupation, and about the need to abolish or at least amend the Military Commissions Act, the Patriot Act, and the No Child Left Behind Act. We will again present him with copies of the two petitions we have given his office.
