A victory in the Port! War profiteer SSA was shut down this morning by our community picket line. Picketing will continue this afternoon. Join the picket line!

SATURDAY, MAY 19: Longshoremen honored a community picket line this morning at the SSA Terminal in the Port of Oakland. Three ships are now sitting at the SSA docks, and cargo is NOT moving today. Our picket line will resume this evening to meet the next shift of dock workers.

Join this afternoon's picket line! We'll meet at the West Oakland BART station at 4 p.m. From there we'll shuttle to the SSA Terminal in the Port.

SSA (Stevedoring Services of America) has profited in an ugly way from the war in Iraq. And, it was at the gates of SSA that peaceful protesters were attacked by police on April 7, 2003.

THEMES & ISSUES
Stop the shipping of war materiel to Iraq
Bring the troops home now, and give them the healthcare they need
Port money for schools and social services
