Much has been said about the decay of the U.S. Empire; if one looks at unemployment in the rustbelt or the killings in New Orleans, it seems to be a fact. But is it a reality? On the other hand, much is being said about the recent left-turn in Latin America. But why is this? Do these governments deliver on what they promise? How do working class people see it? This is an account, with photos, of a recent journey by a comrade from Germany who travelled from the Canadian border to New Orleans, Havana, Venezuela, Peru, and Bolivia. We will also show parts of the DVD "5 Factories" (2005, 80 min.) by German journalist Dario Azzellini about five factories in Venezuela that are supposed to be run under some kind of workers' self-management.

This event is free and wheelchair accessible.
