May is Melanoma Awareness month-- Melanoma is increasing faster than any other cancer and this trend can be slowed through education (genetics, sunbathing and the hole in the ozone layer being major causes) and early detection.

Please come join us for a fun and meaningful stroll through the beautiful Golden Gate Park starting at the Conservatory of Flowers at 9:30 on May 13th! We are asking people to please wear your POLKA DOT attire to show your support, raise awareness and fight melanoma--currently melanoma takes a life every hour--we're walking to change that!!!

We are joining with the Melanoma International Foundation so all of the proceeds and donations will go towards searching for a cure, helping cancer patients directly, and providing public education and awareness.

You can register/donate at http://www.melanomaintl.org and if you can't make it please still donate whatever you can afford to the cause--every bit helps! You don't need to register to walk but all registered walkers are entered into a raffle with great prizes! Additional raffle tickets will be sold at the walk for $1/ticket or 6/$5-- We hope to see you at the park!
Added to the calendar on Fri, May 4, 2007 12:38PM
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
