The Change It program is an all-expenses-paid week of grassroots educational training in Washington, D.C., July 20 to 26, led by the experts from Greenpeace. The program will teach 200 dedicated full- and part-time students, ages 18 to 24, how to take on the toughest global challenges of our time. Apply at http://www.changeit07.org
Training sessions will cover topics such as Targeting & Powermapping Decisionmakers, Developing a Message, Systems Thinking, Lobbying, Action Media, Nonviolence, and Coalition Building. Apply at http://www.changeit07.org
Change It participants will travel to D.C. to work one-on-one with Greenpeace mentors, who will provide personalized training on campaign strategy, recruitment, and event planning. Students will also travel offsite to participate in a campaign event. And at the end of the week they will head off from the program empowered with the knowledge and skills that will allow them to become leaders for change in the environmental and social justice movements. Apply at http://www.changeit07.org
All expenses, including travel, room and board, and the training program itself, will be covered entirely by Change It. Apply at http://www.changeit07.org
Final deadline for applications is May 15, 2007 at 11:59 P.M. Eastern Standard Time.
