A Stance Against U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps Recruitment
The use of education against war rather than violence and force.
Although the law prevents schools from banning recruiters outright, schools have the right to keep their alumni informed, and these alumni have the right to take a stand against the “corrupt political process” as was performed at UCSC. There are different ways to approaching war other than the kind that produces deaths all around, death of the Iraqi people, deaths of the U.S soldiers, death of innocent civilians. There are non violent approaches, or the use of negotiations. However, these alternative tactics focus more on intellectual abilities rather than force and strength, and the best place to create these skills is through attending school. At school one can gain an education, maturity and experience that would then provide more options as to how to get involved and react to foreign affairs with words rather than violence. This in turn would prevent the unnecessary deaths of thousands.
UCSC has got it right. School is no place for U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps recruiters. If anything those recruiters should focus on recruiting people to go to school and acquire an education, in order to develop a solution as to how to deal with the harmful and widespread effects that the Iraqi war has produced instead of perpetuating the problem with more military force.
And the fact that Iraq soldier veterans are supporting the protesting at UCSC against U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps recruitment says something in itself.

as citezens of the united states you have the right to voice your opinion. but remember that without the military you would not be able to do the the things that you take for granted every day. you say the military is corrupt and that is your right. and as a future marine i may not agree with what you say but i will fight and die for your right to say it. my opinion on people like you is that you have nothing better to do than sit around and complain about things like animal rights and anti war. this is america if you think it is so bad here why dont you go live in iraq or afganistn for a few years and see how you like it in a place where you dont have freedom of speech or the right to vote freely or go to th school that you whant. this is america the home of the free because of the brave so dont nock the military bcause one day you may need it. semper fi!!!!!

It appears that the future marine above does not include genuine internationalism in his argument, but only narrow Americanism, as unilateralist, pre-emptive, might is right behaviour.
The anti-fascist war was fought to make aggressive war illegal as a nations foreign policy and to make negotiation as collective agree the new path to solving future relations between nations. The anti-fascist covenants are the United Nations Charter, the Nuremburg Trials, the World Court of the Hague, the Geneva Conventions, and recently the international court and the international war crimes tribunal. It is these articles that Americas soldiers ought to study and apply. In fact it is the anti-fascist side that makes the goal of liberation of the worlds peoples the elimination of war, its machinery of mass death, and its manufactury. All technology ought to be made supportive of the ecological green balances of the living planet so that living and working conditions improve from year to year.
To justify the present situation whereby the U.S. Imperialists manufacture and sell to the world more sophisticated modern weapons then the rest of the world combined shows a certain ignorance of the anti-fascist side. In fact the production of WMD, to the tune of six overkill of all the planets livability, is to the least mentioning, a certain leaning to the facistic side which believes in warring class against class, gender against gender, youth against age, race against race, nation against nation, religion against religion, empire against empire etc till alienation and destruction of the planets livability takes place. Why are they doing all that? It is Imperialism warring for money and resource conquest, in a word-- empire, not genuine freedom or democracy as their propaganda suggests.
War itself must end on this planet and forever between the peoples. Canadas' first division says that. Production is not destruction and in fact all the means of destruction which is war machinery and its manufactury, is in fact wrecking the planets livability and holding in place the polluters of the world to continue pollution as a matter of policy. Such as Bushs' mid-east war for oil pollution when green power is already available.
What needs to happen is the re-tooling of the entire industrial revolution to wind, tidal, and solar power which transforms to electricity and is more power than can be used by society. No more blackouts. This non-pollution solution is given freely in nature and provides work for all and forever more. Viva social liberation. End war, not endless pollution wars which are the deepest wars on the planet, for they are causing the planet in total to lose its livability.

Why should we want to be internationalist? I am citizen of the United States, not a citizen of the world. I have not sworn allegiance to foreign body nor shall I.

Can you provide any sources for your last comment (the military support of UC's ban on recruiters)?
