Crews are being formed to direct, shoot, edit, and act in ten new digital cinema productions of ten minutes or less. Video "head-shots" of all interested actors will be taped free of charge and distributed to the filmmakers.
At the Cast & Crew Call, the audience of volunteer filmmakers and actors meet the selected screenwriters in the "Place Called Sacramento" project and listen to their "pitch" inviting all to participate. Experienced filmmakers and those willing to learn are invited to volunteer in all areas of pre-production, on-set work, and post production. The goal is to organize and produce new film work about, by, and for Sacramento area audiences and show the final films on the big screen at the Crest theatre on October 7, 2007.
This is the eighth successful year of this unique effort at community building. To date 69 films have been created with enthusiasm and camaraderie. To view previous work, read the guidelines used for script submission (http://www.accesssacramento.org), or to ask any questions, contact Ron Cooper, Executive Director, Access Sacramento at (916) 456-8600 #112
Access Sacramento is independent community media for all Sacramento County and manages channels 17 and 18 on local cable systems serving 265,000 homes. Project "Place Called Sacramento" is a fundraising event for the 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation celebrating our twenty-first year of incorporation.
