Sales of crafts from Ten Thousand Villages. Fair trade certification ensures that workers are paid fair wages, are free from abusive labor practices, and use environmentally sustainable methods.
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Resistant Me concert presented by Peer Health @ Student Union, Amphitheater
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Carmencita “Chie” Abad, Former Sweatshop Worker @ Martin Luther King Library (@ E San Fernando & 4th Streets), Rm 255/257
Chie speaks from personal experience about the hardships endured by millions of workers in sweatshops around the world. Her story is an inspiring example of how people can win if they stand up for their rights.

David Bacon is a photojournalist and writer who spent twenty years organizing labor unions. Juan Manuel Sandoval is a leading social activists and academic.
