For more than three months people in the Inner Richmond have been gardening a piece of land that has sat vacant for decades.

Now the landlord wants the garden destroyed.

The owner, a landlord with a history of wrongfully evicting her tenants, would prefer the garden return to its previous state--a vacant lot full of weeds and bits of trash.

She refuses to talk to any of the gardeners or local groups who have become involved in the garden and simply demands the removal of the plants immediately.

We want her to know this garden has broad support, from people in the neighborhood and beyond. Join us Friday morning at 9:00 am when we expect people to show up to clear it out so we can make it known that we want a beautiful garden, not a vacant lot, at the corner of Fulton and Stanyon.

This is not just about one garden--it's about taking control of our neighborhoods and meeting out neighbors, about making this city a better and healthier place to live.

Thanks!
Your neighborhood community gardeners
