The fire burned at 52 Page St. in Hayes Valley on the third and fourth floors of the four story building. One firefighter suffered leg and ankle injuries after jumping out of a fourth floor window onto a roof of an ajoining building. Seventeen residents were displaced but none reported injury. Market St. was shut down during rush hour traffic from Laguna to Vanness as the fire was contained within the hour. The cause of the fire is unknown.

I was on my way to an event that I was supposed to photogragh. As I walked along Market St at Gough to head towards MUNI I heard the sirens and saw the smoke. I had my camera gear with me and I took the time to take photographs of this unfortunate event.
