Vigil at Pelosi's House Continuing till War Funding Vote Needs Support

by Code Pink
Vigil at Pelosi's
CodePink has been camped out in front of Pelosi's house and getting lots of media and needs support. They have been camped out since the other day. Right now only Toby and Leslie are there and they need some support, someone to relieve them for an hour break, bring them food, umbrella's for shade, music and encouragement, more CodePink people to join them, etc... They hope to keep this vigil going until the vote on the war funds. The vigil is at Pelosi's house at 2640 Broadway (between Scott & Divisadero) in San Francisco.

Harrassing people at home is unacceptable, no matter the cause.

One's home is sacrosanct...or used to be.

Anyone badgering people at home should be shunned and ostracized.

It is long overdue that the people of San Francisco, 80% of whose voters always vote for her, demand she represent San Francisco, which also gives over 60% of its vote to all peace resolutions. Nancy Pelosi, who was not even home for her last re-election, and is probably not here now, could easily demand: (1) Ending all funding TODAY to Guantanamo and all other US torture camps that are known, such as Abu Ghraib, and unknown; (2) Money for public housing for all who need it in San Francisco; (3) Repeal of the PATRIOT Act; (4) End the fascist immigration raids across the country, including here in San Francisco where we have not only raids but also Gestapo agents grabbing people off the street in the Tenderloin and the Mission who "look" Hispanic, (5) Repeal of the anti-habeas corpus law and of course (4) End funding of the blood for oil war in Iraq TODAY. Public figures do not have the same privacy as the rest of us, and considering the long list of unmet needs of the people of San Francisco, and the total lack of representation, this small effort iis about time.
