After marching from 16th and Mission, marchers filled in the plaza at the front of the Federal building. The MC's of the rally informed the crowd that 18 people were at that moment being arrested in front of Nancy Pelosi's office.

The first speaker was Nana Kidane, of the Black Alliance for Just Immigration, speaking of African immigrants, and reminding participants that we are all standing on native land.
the rally was bi-lingual, with everything translated into spanish and english. Let's have some appreciation for the folks who translated for all of the speakers!
Katie of FFAA reminded the crowd that, after latin@s, filipino's are the largest immigrant community in California.

Tim Paulson of the Central Labor Committee told the crowd, "We are not going to support guest worker programs because we will not let any workers be exploited!"
Hilary, interpreting for Lily of Arab American Legal Center, who pointed out that the federal building is in the Tenderloin, which is, among other things, an immigrant community.
Speaker from the Asian law Center, who pointed out that Senator Feinstein had backed away fro her support for immigrant justice and needs to hear from her constituents.
This speaker from St. Peter's Housing Committee also led chants for much of the march.

As the rally drew to a close, the first of the 18 people arrested at Pelosi's office were released. Ultimately, all 18 people were cited and released.
