To the editor:
So, Mary Anne Mays returns to only 60% of her salary at PVUSD. That is still around $100,000 a year, working almost half of her previous schedule. A quick glance at the Statewide Average Salaries tell us that the average wages for a Unified School District Superintendent with an ADA around 19,000 is $159,227. Wow, she was actually getting paid at par with other school districts throughout the state. Now, the statewide Midrange Teacher Annual Salary is at $58,436. Can any of our district math teachers tell us what they're getting paid, and what the difference is in comparison to the rest of the state? Now, can our english teachers spell UNDERPAID? Finally, can our politics teachers explain what in the world Mrs. Mays is doing back in the school board and if indeed the process to rehire her was legal?
