Butte County Action Alert for 2/27

by via Safe Access Now
Next Tuesday, February 27, the Butte County Board of
Supervisors will be conducting a hearing on the
implementation of the statewide medical marijuana ID
card program.
Dear medical marijuana supporter,

Next Tuesday, February 27, the Butte County Board of
Supervisors will be conducting a hearing on the
implementation of the statewide medical marijuana ID
card program.

Once the voluntary program is made available, local
patients will have the opportunity to obtain the ID
cards through the county's Health Department. The
cards provide further protection from detainment,
arrest or seizure of medicine from patients who
qualify under California's medical marijuana laws.

If you live in Butte County, please take a few minutes
to contact the Board of Supervisors to express your
support for this important program. Please email or
call all five board members, politely urging them to
approve the staff staff recommendation to begin
accepting applications for the ID cards. Feel free to
use the sample email message, posted at the bottom of
this communication.

Honorable Members of the Board of Supervisors,

I am writing you today to ask that you vote to approve
the County Public Health Department's plan to begin
issuing the statewide medical marijuana ID cards in
Butte County. Local patients have already waited far
too long for the county to make this important program
available.

Not only is the implementation of the medical
marijuana ID card program a requirement of state law,
once the program is in place, the cards will greatly
assist both patients and law enforcement alike.

Please vote to approve agenda item# 5.01 next Tuesday.
Doing so will be a major step in advancing the will of
California voters.

Thank you,

[city of residence]
