Innovative group unites Middle Eastern musicians

In January, Eliyahu announced plans for Qadim to record a new song set with renowned world remix producer and composer Jef Stott, and celebrated Arabic percussionist Faisal Zedan joined the group.

Qadim

Qadim, or "Eastern wind," is a word found in both Arabic and Hebrew meaning "that which precedes" as well as "that which will come." The group specializes in recording and performing modern interpretations of and original compositions inspired by ancient mystical music of the Near East. Since first forming in 2006, the group has quickly built a standing room only following throughout the Bay Area and beyond by bringing together Indian, Iranian, Jewish, Moroccan and Syrian musicians to celebrate the common musical and spiritual heritage of the now troubled region's ancient cultures.
