Black History Month is here and with it, the opportunity to recommit ourselves to embracing and discovering our roots. At Leadership Excellence, the month of February is a continuation of our yearlong celebration of our rich cultural heritage.
Celebrate with us! Please join Leadership Excellence for our inaugural "Black History Month Begins in Africa" program on Saturday, February 24, 2007 1:30p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Oakland Museum of California. We will also be honoring our newest board member, Arnold Perkins, former Director of the Alameda County Health Department. This remarkable event will give families in the Bay Area the opportunity to personally experience the tastes, sounds, languages and beauty that Africa has to offer. The event will feature African dance and an interactive discussion with students who have visited Africa through our comprehensive study abroad program - Camp Alkebulan. This remarkable event will give families in the Bay Area the opportunity to personally experience the tastes, sounds, languages and beauty that Africa has to offer.
