Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) - linked to Hunters Point Naval Shipyard.

by Francisco Da Costa
It is time that all San Franciscans and others understand the role of the Restoration Advisory Board (RAB)linked to the Hunters Point Shipyard. The RAB did not agree to the transfer of Parcel A but the City and County of San Francisco, Mayor Gavin Newsom, and the Citizens Advisory Committee all appointed by the Mayor went forward with Parcel A.
San Franciscans have no clue about the Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) linked to Hunters Point Naval Shipyard.

Most of our newspapers have no clue about the RAB. The reason is simple most San Franciscans, especially the filthy rich do not care about the poor and those that live in the Southeast Sector. This is the last frontier and the greed folks are all lined up to make the best of it.

In the mean time folks like David Saleman aka Saul Bloom of Arc Ecology continues to take advantage of the community. Every year the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency (SFRA) is giving him $386,000 in grants to do out reach to the community. Every year Arc Ecology does little if nothing as was seen with the Asbestos Dust and the adverse impacts to the Muhammad University and the children that go to this school at 195 Kiska Road at Hunters Point.

The RAB was created to address Base Closure issues and to involve the community in a meaningful dialog. Some forces including City Hall have seen to the division of the community. Choosing to trust some crooks mostly Black to do the dirty work and divide the community.

Hunters Point all of it on the Shipyard is a Superfund Site. Only the worse toxic sites are put on the Superfund List.

The Hunters Point Naval Shipyard has parcel A, B, C, D, E (that is the most polluted) and F under the Bay. Only Parcel A comes under the jurisdiction of the City and County of San Francisco. The City has chosen to give it to SFRA and Lennar Corp is the lead developer.

It is wrong to build 1600 homes on Parcel A. It is wrong to try to demolish the Public Housing at Alice Griffith to build a Stadium and homes.

Low Income Housing and the poor have to be protected.

The RAB should work hard to protect the Shipyard by insisting that the Navy does the clean up. So far that has not happened:
