We are a group of working students that are tired of paying The Man for gas and are currently exploring the use of biodiesel and veggie oil as a low/no cost fuel alternative. Presently we are working on a biodiesel race car on the Evans campus. The car we have chosen to use is a 1974 El Camino Super Sport which originally had a 350 gas engine in it which removed and replaced with a 6.2 GMC diesel engine. We plan to supe it up with twin turbos and nitrous injection. Our goal is to get the car to the tracks and get at least a 14 second on the 1/4 mile.
We will be holding our first meeting of the semester this Sat and are encouraging people to attend and join the club. |
