The Afro Joint (A Black History Month Celebration) Black History Month is celebrated annually in the month of February. The occasion provides a great opportunity to explore the African heritage of people and music. In recognition of black history, we bring you a spiritual blend of soulful African Rhythms influenced by the Yoruba people of Nigeria. Join us for a night of organic Afrobeat sensation. Saturday, February 17, 2006 (Every 3rd Saturday Of Each Month) DJ Set by Said (Fatsouls, Atmosfere, SF) With Soji Odukogbe (Live Guitar) Soji was for five years the lead guitarist and right hand man for Fela Kuti. He appears on many of Fela's recordings. Soji draws on an extensive array of spiritual music, bringing a unique sensibility to his highlife guitar interpretations. Rasaki Aladokun (On live talking drum, conga & bongo) Rasaki is a miracle percussionist with over 25 years experience.
