3rd Congressional District voters Thursday call on
Rep. Lungren for ‘bipartisanship,' to support end to Iraq war

Gold River, California – Rep. Dan Lungren – like Sacramento Rep. Doris
Matsui – is being targeted by 3rd Congressional District constituents here
Thursday for not supporting efforts to end the war in Iraq and bring US
troops home.

The rally and news conference will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25,
at Rep. Lungren's office at 11246 Gold Express Drive in Gold River,
according to Peace in the Precincts.

The action is now the second at the offices of Sacramento area
representatives in congress. Demonstrators mark their 13th straight day in
Rep. Matsui's office Thursday.

The message is similar for both actions. Rep. Lungren will be asked to work
with fellow lawmakers to bring U.S. troops home from Iraq and support
initiatives for reconstruction and political solutions in Iraq.

Constituents will also ask Congressman Lungren to support less expensive
student loans, less expensive drugs for seniors, less expensive energy
policies, and more effective national
security; all bills recently introduced in Congress. Lungren has voted NO
on these bills and others introduced during the first 100 hours of the
110th Congress. Constituents will describe how these bills could help them.

Press Conference Location:
