"Do You Know Alan Berg?": How the Right-Wing Responds to Talk-Radio
To a recent poster who asserted that Spocko and other bloggers were “trying to thwart the speech of others”, I responded, “Not quite. They are further propagating the speech of others. You know, as the Bushling said, 'Ya gotta catapult the propaganda'. Honest to God! You’d think that the Neo-Crazies would show some gratitude!!!!”
Indeed. Melanie Morgan, Brian Sussman, and “Officer Vic” of KSFO should be grateful for such publicity, given their profound lack of talent, knowledge and insight.
Although, the KSFO broadcast staff whine and cry “foul” over “liberal’s” response to their inane program, they should commend them for not acting out as right-wing listeners have done in response to broadcasters who are too “liberal” for their tastes ~ namely, issuing death threats and even carrying them out.
Only two months ago, we first heard of Chad Castagana, the 39-year aficionado of Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin who still lives with his mother, from whose home he posted packages containing threatening letters and powdered substances to celebrities whom he deemed too “liberal”.
In one letter meant for Jon Stewart, he wrote:
"Do you know Alan Berg? You should. Death to demagogues."
Actually, Castagana does have a point.
Yes, we should know Alan Berg:
“On June 18, 1984, Denver radio talk-show host Alan Berg was shot and killed by members of 'The Order,' a neo-Nazi domestic terrorist group.
Berg was a top-rated personality on KOA-AM who proclaimed himself a 'wild man of the airwaves.' He enraged and fascinated listeners by insulting and cutting off callers. A political and social liberal, Berg frequently talked with callers about sexual stereotypes, Christian hypocrisy, racial intolerance and the need for gun control. He ridiculed members of the KKK and the Aryan Nation, often mentioning specific names.”
The dreaded “liberal bloggers”, on the other hand, have taken entirely different approach from that of right-wing critics.
They presented the facts, and backed it up with irrefutable recorded evidence.
